Palacio del Flamenco – in a renovated theater on tony Balmes, 139, in the Eixample, handy to hotels and recommended by the top desk staffs. It has a regular cast of 15 artists who perform true flamenco and flamenco fusion on the original theater stage while the orchestra seats have been turned into an upscale restaurant. It just opened in January ’07 (palaciodelflamenco.com)

Soniquete - There’s also a lively new flamenco bar that attracts the young and hip on Carrer Milans, 5, near the Placa Reial in the Gothic quarter and only open from Thursday – Sunday.

Try to avoid the touristy and unauthentic Los Tarantos on Placa Reial.

Cocktail bars have a calmer and more relaxed atmosphere than the loud music bars. You often hear Brazilian music or soft jazz from the plant. This bar attracts mainly a sophisticated business crowd who wish for an evening of cocktails and conversation. You can sample from their wide selections of drinks while you enjoy a quiet evening in Zsa Zsa. One of its trademark features is the constantly changing lighting. The mirrored walls reflect everything from dark black to an array of different colors!

Despite it being a gay club, all the collest and most stylish from Barcelona’s nightlife flock in.
The boys are beautiful, the girls are stunning and the transexuals are gorgeous

It’s definitely the session par excellence for sleepwalkers and night-owls, although it is also aimed at those who live different timetables and who cannot go out on Friday or Saturday nights.

From midnight onwards, La Madame puts on the best sessions at Ronda Sant Pere 19-21. In one room you can find the coolest music from the resident Matinée All-Star DJs J.Louis and Ior.dee, and in the other an area of special entertainment: La Bouche.

La Madame has at its disposal a huge entertainment and public relations team who ensure that every La Madame session is a night full of fun and good times.

An open mind and a desire to have fun and to share the pumping beats of Sundays is essential.

Lady Madame opens her arms and invites you to feel the pulse of the week the best way you can: because there is life beyond Friday and Saturday nights!
